Lead Analyst: Banking (UK)

Job description

BCG Expand are seeking a Lead Analyst to help support and drive a large, growing book of work aligned to the Banking sector. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to revenue growth and innovation within their domain and ensure successful completion of projects with experience and flexibility.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for strategic decision support for our clients through Expand’s syndicated benchmarking and market research in the Banking industry, bringing in strong topic knowledge and Excel modelling capabilities. A significant portion of the role involves developing market size estimates across banking products, detailed modelling, and client discussions to explain strategic conclusions. You will also play a significant role in Expand-hosted community forums, facilitating peer-to-peer discussions and sharing industry best practices.

We are looking for a proactive, curious and diligent individual—an articulate problem solver with a strong analytical mindset, a deep passion for data, and a sound understanding of the banking sector to play a key role in the Banking Practice Area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently delivering complex data analysis modules and potentially working on several smaller modules simultaneously
  • Leading client and internal meetings effectively
  • Demonstrating complete ownership of the work; ensuring client satisfaction, meeting project timelines, and keeping stakeholders informed
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure programme membership remains high

While oversight is provided by senior team members, Expand’s culture emphasizes personal ownership at every stage. Lead Analysts play a central role across the delivery lifecycle—from supporting sales, data collection, analysis, and visualization, to communication of findings—offering diversity and a broad skill set. You will have high levels of direct client exposure, including C-level executives.

The role offers an opportunity for quick learning, rapid business knowledge accumulation, and internal progression.
