Wealth Management Lead Analyst

Expand are seeking a Lead Analyst to help support and drive a large, growing book of work aligned to the Wealth Management sector. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to revenue growth and innovation within their domain and ensure successful completion of projects with experience and flexibility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic decision support for our clients through Expand’s syndicated benchmarking and market research in the Wealth Management industry, and for overseeing a small team of Analysts providing support and content expertise. A significant portion of this role involves detailed discussions with our clients, enabling you to guide senior management in making strategic decisions using the insights you share. You will also play a key role in Expand-hosted community forums, facilitating peer-to-peer discussions and sharing industry best practice. We are looking for a proactive, curious and diligent individual – a systematic and articulate problem solver who will play a key role in the AWM Practice Area.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Successfully delivering at least one entire data analysis programme and potentially several smaller programmes
  • Leading client and internal meetings effectively
  • Ensuring that clients are satisfied and project timelines are met
  • Managing a small team, maximising performance and the effective use of resources
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the programme’s membership remains high

While oversight is provided by senior team members, Expand’s culture places emphasis on personal ownership at every stage of an employee’s career. Lead Analysts play a central role in all aspects of the delivery lifecycle—from supporting sales through to initial data collection, analysis, visualisation, and communication of findings—allowing for a great deal of diversity on the job and development of a broad skill set. You will have frequent client exposure, often at the senior management level.

We are looking for a proactive, curious and diligent individual—an analytical and articulate problem solver who will spearhead the analysis delivery process. The role involves learning and increasing business knowledge quickly, with the opportunity to progress internally.

Job Requirements

Note: Candidates must be based in Frankfurt or London.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Conversational German (preferred)
  • Strong Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an analytical or quantitative subject
  • 3+ years’ work experience, ideally in benchmarking, research or business analysis
  • Sector experience in financial services, consultancy or market research preferred (asset and wealth management experience would be a distinct advantage)

Technical Skills

  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel (including pivot tables and comfort with complex data sets) and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interrogate, interpret, evaluate and model data to extract insights and answer client queries
  • Excellent analytical, rational thinking and problem solving ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of financial services terminology and concepts

Non-Technical Skills

  • Engaging presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to run client meetings, develop a deep understanding of client needs and handle difficult client situations effectively
  • Project management of high-value products, including time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to handle data and information sensitively and confidentially
  • Ability to work accurately and simultaneously on multiple assignments, sometimes under pressure, leveraging resources accordingly and reporting progress to stakeholders
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Entrepreneurial, creative and collaborative mindset, demonstrating ownership and initiative
